CloggStock 2018 brings a new early-season collaboration to the local festival calendar, taking place on April 20-21. “CloggStock; What could possibly go wrong?”
A joint offering from the organisers of Deerstock and Cloggerfest, it intends building on their friendship and shared vision, bringing fans of both festivals together to enjoy the best of musical offerings from both events.
The Alfreton venue of Hilcote Country Club was chosen as it is easily accessible and equidistant from both parent festivals, Deerstock being at Newton, Nottinghamshire, and Cloggerfest at Cresswell, near Stoke.
Naomi Budd, a joint organiser with Dave Owen, said: “We are hoping that CloggStock 2018 is the start of something very special for the Deerstock/Cloggerfest family.

The Blue Carpet Band. CloggStock Saturday headliners.
Blue Carpet are a powerhouse five-piece garage/ dirty rock’n’roll band based in North London. Like classic blues-rock proponents such as The Yardbirds and early Rolling Stones mixing it up with New York punk and late 60’s protopunk. Think big riffs, 12-bar boogie and unstoppable energy.
Sons of Clogger
Sons of Clogger are a four piece band with a huge sound fusing folk with punk by integrating 12 string acoustic guitar, mandolin, mandola, whistles, heavy bass and free style driving drums. Their full-bloodied invigorating music is driven by uncompromising feveur and captivates the crowds at festivals and venues up and down the UK.
Is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from the Black Country who has been penning songs since her early teens. Over the past few years her style has developed into a husky, shouty brand of folk music that often has her being likened to a female Frank Turner or Billy Bragg. Jess has enjoyed playing support slots for the likes of Justin Sullivan (New Model Army), T.V. Smith (The Adverts), and Attila the Stockbroker to name a few. Taking inspiration from her favourite artists (such as the Levellers, Frank Turner, Billy Bragg), Jess is heavily lyric-focused, writing songs inspired by current events on a world-wide and a much more local scale. With two self produced EPs, Jess gigs a lot around the Midlands and her debut album, a collection of songs that she has been writing and gigging with over the past couple of years, is set to be released on Friday 11th May 2018.
